Our Process

Ethical, sustainable and vintage pieces for your wardrobe and home.

Hey gorgeous. When it comes to personal style, you don't compromise and neither do we.

You save money by allowing us to only make the sizes and styles you actually want. This cuts down on wasted fabric and materials and helps us reduce prices. Once you pick the style that speaks most to you, your handmade clothing arrives on your doorstep in 3 weeks. We offer sizes XS-XL and various trim options and as we grow, we'll carry petites and a large range of sizes. The process varies with each garment (see how to take your customized measurements in this video), but the result is the same: a bonafide, small-batch-beauty with your name on it.

Our Jean Franklin team is an integral part of creating a brighter, more supported world and treating all of our teammates with the respect they deserve is a non-negotiable for us. We strive to rebuild job opportunities and support local women-run businesses which is why we work with a small team out of Los Angeles. We believe in fair work wages, safe and welcoming environments, and a whole lot of love. With each Jean Franklin piece you buy, you support some seriously rad women who stitch each garment with their own story.

With every purchase you make, beautiful unused fabric and trims that were cast aside by other fashion brands (also known as deadstock fabric) are saved from being carted off to landfills. These fabrics are only available in small quantities, keeping your garment unique and never mass-produced. In doing so, you’ve cut out all the water and energy usage typical of new clothing production and gave Mother Earth a huge hug.

Vintage clothing calls to us because it marries two of our passions; a bygone era and sustainability. We love looking back at past times and acknowledging the lessons learned, the civil and human rights earned, and creatives spirits that inspire us. We believe in changemakers and strive to be one. In honor of this, we offer vintage pieces— the most sustainable way to shop. Talk about smarty pants...
