Meet the Real Jean + Franklin

Meet the Real Jean + Franklin

Carol Jean was born in 1951 in a small farming town in the Central Valley, called Wasco, CA. She loved eating dinner with friends, hanging out in coffee shops, making macrame crafts, growing houseplants, and wearing mini skirts against college rules. She borrowed style inspiration from album covers and rocked some seriously rad 70’s clothing.

Carl Franklin made his way to this world on December 5, 1950 in Conway, Arkansas and surrounded himself with all things denim, corduroy, photography and wrote for local papers. He could be found hanging out next to the record player with his favorites Bob Dylan, Van Morrison and Joni Mitchell, going to old silent movies with his friends and spending quality nature time with Carol at a cabin in the Sequoias.

These two souls gave birth to a girl named Amanda but what they didn’t know was that their steadfast commitment to each other and their on-point fashion choices would also give birth to a business that cherished good style, sustainable practices and a love for all things vintage.

Jean Franklin was born in 2017 and values the Earth, slowing down to enjoy the simple things in life like reminiscing over old photos, enjoying afternoon tea with a good friend, lifting others up, supporting small businesses, marching alongside our sisters and honoring body types of all kinds. When it comes to honoring your values and choices, you don’t compromise on style and neither do we.
